Bengaluru: Woman murdered over property dispute; son, daughter-in-law held

A 60-year-old woman was hacked to death by her son and daughter-in-law following a quarrel over property in Devanahalli near Bengaluru, police said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Chinnamma (60). The accused couple identified as Raghavendra (40) and his wife Sudha (38) have been arrested in connection with the case.
Police informed that a legal dispute was ongoing between Chinnamma and Raghavendra after the latter got the property registered in his name without the knowledge of his mother. The dispute is subjudice in the court.
On the day of the incident, Chinnamma had come to the farm to collect fuel and Raghavendra picked up a fight with her. During the quarrel, the accused attacked his mother with a stick. His wife Sudha also joined and attacked her. The couple had taken the injured Chinnamma to the hospital and tried to pose as innocents.
Chinnamma died due to severe bleeding. The police arrested the accused couple after the probe revealed their involvement in the murder.
