Udupi: The state government, on Monday, issued an order handing over the investigation into the case video recording in the washroom of Netrajyoti Paramedical College to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The three girl students were suspended from the college on the accusation of filming the video in the restroom of the college recently. The issue has created a flutter in political circles, with the BJP holding a state-wide protest demanding the arrest of the three students involved in the filming of a girl, pointing out that the victim and the accused girls are from two different religious communities.
On July 26 police registered suo motu cases regarding the video recording in the washroom of the college.
A delegation of BJP legislators from coastal districts met Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on August 4, and requested him to order the state government to conduct an SIT probe into the case.
