Bengaluru: A man allegedly strangled his wife to death and surrendered himself to the police in Bengaluru.
The accused, Taranath was upset as locals tauntingly called his wife, Sarita (35) a thief since there was a theft case registered against her in Mulki police station limits.
The couple, hailing from Mangaluru’s Mulki had gotten married 11 years ago. Later they shifted to Bengaluru for work and earned a living by running a Panipuri stall.
Taranath was upset as locals kept taunting Sarita a thief and thus strangled his wife to death. Later he tried to commit suicide himself but could not muster the courage to end his life. He thus surrendered himself to the police and confessed to the crime.
Whitefield station police arrested him and investigations are on.
