BJP MLAs accuse DK District administration of violating MLA rights

In a recent development, BJP MLAs from the district have raised serious allegations against the Dakshina Kannada district administration, claiming unwarranted interference in the administrative system.

The MLAs have expressed concerns over what they perceive as a violation of their rights and have called for immediate action to rectify the situation.

The controversy stems from the suspension of the Taluk Panchayat  EO and Gram Panchayat PDO officials. The suspension was carried out in connection with alleged breaches of protocol during the invitation process for the Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra and Panchayat Office inauguration event in Iruvailu Gram Panchayat, which falls within the Moodbidri Assembly Constituency.

The incident resulted in the postponement of the inauguration program for the complex building in Irvattur village, situated within the Bantwal constituency.

Former minister and council member Kota Srinivasa Poojary addressed the matter during a press conference on Thursday. He warned that if the suspended officers are not reinstated within the next three days, a protest will be organized by all BJP MLAs and Vidhan Parishad members from the district. The protest is scheduled to take place at the district collector’s office complex on August 14.

The press conference witnessed the presence of prominent figures such as MLAs Umanatha Kotian, U. Rajesh Naik, Dr Y. Bharat Shetty, Vedavyas Kamath, and Pratap Simha Naik.
