Belthangady: Thieves strike in broad daylight, decamp with gold sovereigns, cash

Beltangady: Unidentified thieves decamped with 15 gold sovereigns and Rs 20,000 cash from a residence in broad daylight at Ujire Kalle on August 12 when the house occupants had gone out.
The theft was reported at the residence of Felix and came to light when his daughter returned home from college. As per the complaint the theives gained entry into the house after breaking the back door. At the time of the theft, both Felix and his wife had gone out for work.
The thieves attempted to gain entry into two other houses nearby but were not successful.
Beltangady police visited the spot and began an investigation.
