Bantwal: A 26-year-old aspiring artist ended his life on Monday by leaping into a well at his home.

The deceased has been identified as Sagar Acharya of the Mittamajalu area of Sajipamooda village.

Though the exact reason behind the extreme step is not known it is suspected that his health issues and unemployment may have contributed to the decision. It is gathered that Sagar, a talented painter, had been working as an artist at the CDPO office in BC Road two years ago. However, he had to stop working due to kidney problems.

He had to undergo dialysis regularly, and his father selflessly donated one of his kidneys to save Sagar’s life. Unfortunately, this left Sagar’s family struggling with both his health and financial difficulties.

Sagar’s friends shared that he had been allegedly grappling with the stress of these problems, as he reportedly found it hard to cope with the hardships.

Sagar’s body was recovered from the 30-foot deep well and kept at the Bantwal government hospital, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
