Goa: Young medical officer collapses while on duty, dies

Panaji: A young medical officer collapsed and died while on duty at the Shiroda Primary Health Centre in Goa.

The deceased has been identified as Akshaya Pavaskar (38).

According to sources, Pavaskar suddenly collapsed and died while on duty at the hospital.

The cause of Akshaya’s death is yet to be ascertained, however, its is suspected that she might have suffered a cardiac arrest.  The exact cause is expected to be revealed after an autopsy.

The medical fraternity and the staff expressed their condolences at the sudden demise of the young medical officer.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane expressed grief over the incident. The health department will probe the exact cause of death of the woman doctor, he said.
