Founder of Sri Ram Sena Pramod Muthalik expressed support for an upcoming protest seeking justice in the Sowjanya case and said that a few individuals are trying to cover-up the case.
Muthalik further mentioned that around 40,000 women have gone missing and approximately 45,000 minors have become pregnant over the past three years in the state.
He underscored the seriousness of the issue and urged authorities to launch a thorough investigation led by a High Court judge. He also proposed the establishment of a special force to prevent such incidents and expressed worries about the rise of “love jihad” in the backdrop of increasing disappearances of women.
Muthalik also cited the disturbing number of missing children, with approximately 25,000 cases reported. He called on pro-Hindu organizations to unite in a non-religious, non-caste movement against violence targeting women, love jihad, kidnappings, and disappearances.
Highlighting the nationwide scope of love jihad, Muthalik criticized central and state governments, except for Uttar Pradesh, for their failure to enact stringent laws against it. He commended the measures taken by the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh.
Additionally, Muthalik condemned opposition to the installation of a Ganesha idol in Hubli’s Eidgah Maidan, stating that such actions were intolerant and misplaced. He appealed for cooperation from all quarters, regardless of political or religious affiliations, emphasizing that the site is situated within Indian territory.
