Sullia: Village administrator caught red-handed by Lokayukta in bribery sting operation

The village administrator of Aranthodu village in Sullia taluk, Miyasab Mulla, found himself ensnared in a bribery sting operation set up by the Lokayukta.
The incident unfolded when Mulla attempted to extort money while promising to expedite the application process.
It is said that a local resident, Mulla received a bribe of Rs 3,000 from Hariprasad from Adtale. However, the situation took a decisive turn when he arrived at the Sullia Revenue Inspector’s office to collect the remaining five thousand rupees from Hariprasad.
Unbeknownst to Mulla, this meeting had been meticulously orchestrated by the Lokayukta officials who had been preparing to catch him in the act.
Acting swiftly on Hariprasad’s complaint, the officers effectively laid a trap that led to Mulla’s apprehension while he was in the process of receiving the illicit bribe.
The accused village administrator, was promptly presented before the court to face the legal consequences of his actions.
This incident serves as a potent reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies, particularly the Lokayukta, to combat corruption and ensure the fair and just functioning of government processes. The successful operation showcased the dedication of these officials in upholding ethical standards and holding those in positions of power accountable for their actions.
