Mangaluru: 2 arrested for peddling MDMA

Mangaluru: Two individuals have been arrested by the Mangaluru CCB police for selling MDMA, a prohibited synthetic drug.
The accused have been identified as Katipalla resident Shakib alias Shabbu (33) and Surathkal Chokkabettu resident Nisar Hussain alias Nicchu (34).
Police said that they were caught while selling MDMA from a white Volkswagen car.
Police also seized 52 grams of MDMA valued at Rs. 2,60,000/-, the Volkswagen car, two mobile phones, cash worth Rs. 1,800/-, and a digital weight scale. The total estimated value of the seized items is Rs. 7,83,300/-.
Both the accused have a history of involvement in various criminal cases. Shabbu has been involved in various criminal cases, including theft and assault. Despite being released on bail earlier, he evaded court proceedings, leading to a warrant against him.
Similarly, Nicchu has been previously linked to robbery, attempted murder, and drug sale cases in various police stations. He had also absconded after securing bail, resulting in multiple pending warrants against him, police added.
