MCC Mayoral election to be held on Sept 8

The regional commissioner, Mysuru informed that the elections for the posts of the 24th term mayor, deputy mayor, and chairpersons of the four standing committees of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) will be conducted on September 8.
The election will be held at 12 noon on September 8.
Presently, Jayanand Anchan and Poornima hold the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of the MCC respectively.
In the last mayoral election, BJP had secured majority with 44 seats out of the 60 wards while Congress and SDPI bagged 14 and 2 seats respectively.
