K’taka HC disqualifies JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna as MP from Hassan

The Karnataka High Court has disqualified JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna as a Member of Parliament from the Hassan district. The case was brought to the court by lawyer Devaraj Gowda, who alleged that Revanna had provided false information in his election affidavit in 2019.
A bench presided over by Justice K Natarajan delivered its verdict today, officially disqualifying Prajwal Revanna from his position as a Member of Parliament (MP).
Additionally, the court rejected a petition filed by the defeated candidate, A. Manju, who sought to be declared the winning candidate on the grounds of Revanna’s alleged electoral misconduct. However, the court ruled against this request.
In response to this ruling, it has been reported that Prajwal Revanna intends to appeal to the Supreme Court.
