Kannada actor comedian Chandraprabha does U-turn, says victim was not drunk

Chikkamagaluru: Kannada actor comedian Chandraprabha appeared before the police in connection with hit-and-run case that took place near KSRTC bus stand at Chikkamagaluru.
In the CCTV footage of the accident that went viral a car is seen ramming a bike rider, identified as Malatesh who fell to the ground and sustained serious injuries. The car driver allegedly sped away without halting the car. Upon investigation it was revealed that the car belonged to Chandraprabha.
Chandraprabha earlier told media persons that the bike rider was drunk. Further he dismissed allegations of it being a hit-and-run case stating he got the injured shifted to a hospital.
The actor who appeared before the police reportedly admitted to his mistake and apologised for claiming that the victim was drunk. “I said that Malatesh was drunk. I was wrong, he wasn’t drunk at time of mishap. I should have enquired about his well-being but I didn’t do so,” the comedian said.
Further he said that he would visit Malatesh in hospital and also help him financially to cover the hospital expenses.
