Bengaluru: Major gold smuggling operation foiled at KIA

Customs officials have successfully intercepted a substantial quantity of illicitly smuggled gold jewelry at Kempegowda International Airport. The contraband was discovered on a flight that had just arrived from Dubai.

On September 9, a meticulously executed search operation, guided by a detailed profiling procedure, uncovered a cache of gold. The ingenious smugglers had ingeniously concealed 2.8 kilograms of gold within a soluble paste, wrapped in layers of insulation tape. This concealment method was discovered concealed beneath the smugglers’ waist belts.

Authorities acted swiftly, apprehending both individuals involved in this brazen attempt to evade customs regulations.
