Most parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts were greeted with moderate rainfall on Saturday, September 9, bringing much-needed relief to the region.
Mangaluru city, the bustling coastal hub, witnessed intermittent light showers in both the morning and evening hours. However, the weather exhibited a changeable pattern throughout the day, with moments of cloud cover followed by bursts of sunshine.
Udupi city and its vicinity, including Kaup, Brahmavar, Hebri, Karkala, Byndoor, observed sporadic rainfall, while places like Parkala, Malpe, and Manipal experienced light drizzles. As evening descended, heavy downpours graced several areas in the district, albeit briefly.
Temperature-wise, Mangaluru reported a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius, providing some respite from the usual coastal warmth, with a minimum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted the likelihood of both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts receiving moderate rainfall over the next two days, offering a glimmer of hope for further relief from the prevalent weather conditions.
As the monsoon season persists, residents and authorities remain vigilant, prepared for the ever-changing weather patterns that characterize this time of year. Stay tuned for further updates on the weather front in these coastal regions.
