Surathkal: 2 youths seriously injured after express bus crashes into motorbike

Suratkal: Two youths were seriously injured after a rash and recklessly driven private bus hit the motorbike they were riding on National Highway 66 near Hosabettu here on Sunday.

The injured have been identified as Mohammed Sahil a resident of Indira Nagar in Haleangadi and Arafat, a resident of Pakshikere Hosakadu.

Both have been hospitalised with serious injuries.

The express bus moving towards Udupi from Mangaluru knocked down the youth who were waiting near the median to cross the highway on the motorbike. The visuals of he incident were widely circulated on social media platforms.

In the aftermath of the incident, the public expressed their anguish at the police department for failing to control the rash driving behaviour of the bus crew. It is said that a bus driver employed by the firm operating the bus involved in Sunday’s incident had recently gotten into a fight with bikers near Hosabettu, whose visuals had gone viral.
