Udupi/Kota: The Union of Building Material Transport Lorry, Tempo Owners have announced some temporary changes in the indefinite strike.
The decisions were made during the district-level office bearers’ meeting held at Mangalya Mandir in Kota on Monday.
As the Karnataka Governor’s visit to Udupi is scheduled for October 3, the lorries and tempos parked beside the National Highway will be shifted to a nearby private ground. They will be brought to the highway from October 4.
Elaborating on the reasoning for the decision, union chief Raghav Shetty said “We have taken this decision as a mark of respect to the constitutional position of Governor. Our struggle will continue. On October 4, a foot march to the Deputy Commissioner’s office will be held.”
