An FIR has been registered at the East Police Station in Mangaluru, following a complaint by a city native who claims to have been defrauded of a substantial sum of Rs 75 lakh by an onion trader hailing from Solapur.
The accused, identified as Kundalik Jumbar Khandagale, is the proprietor of Siddeshwara Traders, a business based in Solapur, Maharashtra. The complainant and purported victim in this unfolding saga is Abdul Rahiman Bawa, a resident of Mangaluru.
Their acquaintance dates back to January 2021 when the two initially crossed paths through their involvement in the agricultural produce trading industry. Kundalik, who held interests in onion trading businesses both in Chennai and Mangaluru, developed a close friendship with Abdul Rahiman during their interactions.
However, matters took a distressing turn when Kundalik purportedly arrived in Mangaluru armed with an enticing investment proposal, which Abdul Rahiman eventually found to be a ruse. Reportedly, Kundalik successfully persuaded Abdul Rahiman to transfer a staggering sum of Rs 75 lac into the bank account belonging to Siddeshwara Traders, an enterprise under Kundalik’s ownership.
The Criminal Enforcement Network (CEN) police force has initiated a thorough investigation into this alleged fraud.
