Bengaluru: In a devastating incident on Tuesday morning, a car lost control, breaching the road divider, and collided with an oncoming lorry on Nice Road. The collision resulted in a fatal fire, claiming the lives of Sindhu (32) and her children, Kusavi (2) and Pranavi (6), all residents of Vijinapur, Ramamurthynagar.

Sindhu’s husband, Mahendran (35), who was driving the car, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. Mahendran, hailing from Tamil Nadu, is employed at a software company in Nagar and has been residing in Vijinapur with his family for several years.

The tragic incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, as the family was en route from Mysuru to Kanakapura Road on Nice Road, near Clover Leaf, Somapura. The car, after losing control, collided with an oncoming lorry, leading to a subsequent fire. Despite efforts from passersby, Sindhu and Kusavi succumbed to the flames.

Rescue teams managed to extricate Mahendran and Pranavi from the vehicle, rushing them to a nearby hospital. Regrettably, Pranavi’s severe burn injuries proved fatal despite medical intervention.

Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene, extinguishing the car fire. The Talaghattapur traffic police responded to the incident and launched an investigation. Senior police officials and FSL experts assessed the scene.

Preliminary reports suggest that excessive speed and negligent driving may have contributed to the accident. Investigations are underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events. The lorry driver, fortunately, sustained minor injuries and narrowly escaped with his life.
