Udupi: Home burgled at Shivalli, thieves decamp with gold, silver worth Rs 73 lakhs

Udupi: Thieves broke into a house in Shivalli and decamped with valuables worth Rs 73 lakhs.
The burglary took place at the residence of Ammunje Vithaldas Nayak located at the 4th cross on Lala Lajapat Rai road in Shivalli village on October 8.
The thieves forcibly entered the premises by breaking both the front door and the master bedroom door. Once inside, they proceeded to ransack the premises, targeting the almirahs containing the family’s valuable possessions.
The stolen loot comprises an assortment of gold ornaments, weighing a total of 1,882 grams and valued at Rs 66,36,300. Additionally, the culprits made off with 7,450 grams of silver articles, valued at Rs 6,70,500. The aggregate value of the stolen goods is estimated to be Rs 73,06,800.
A case has been registered at Udupi City Police Station in this regard.
