Prize distribution ceremony for Yashoda Krishna photo contest-2023 held in Udupi

An event was held on Thursday at the Woodland Hotel to present awards to the winners of the “Mane Maneyalli Yashoda Krishna Photo Contest-2023,” a collaborative effort between Udayavani and Jayalakshmi Silk Bannanje.
Rashmi Krishnaprasad, the Administrative Director of Prasad Nethralaya, stressed the importance of heeding a mother’s guidance as a means to establish discipline in children. She spoke highly of Udayavani for providing a platform for such programs and expressed hope for more similar initiatives in the future.
Dr. Shakeela, Managing Director of Manjunath Eye Hospital, emphasized the high regard for women in their roles as mothers and the need to appreciate their work. She underlined the significance of all mothers in society.
Jayalakshmi Virendra Hegde, the director of Jayalakshmi Silks of Bannanje, commended parents for their dedication in getting their children to pose for photos and commended Udayavani for organizing the competition.
Aravind Navada, the editor of Udayavani’s Manipal and Mumbai editions, presided over the competition, which saw over 5,000 photo submissions this time. The “Yashoda Krishna” contest, now in its sixth year, has expanded to include participation from rural areas, receiving a growing number of entries from both rural and urban areas.
Dance expert Srividya Sandesh served as a judge for the competition, and the event was welcomed and proposed by MMNL Vice President (National Head-Magazine and Special Initiatives) Ramachandra Mijar. The list of prize winners was read out by Udupi Marketing Regional Manager Radhakrishna Kodavoor, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Editor Rajesh Mulki.
The awardees in the first division included Anaira Udupi, while the second division saw winners like Supritha K.S.- Ishaan Sullia, Dhanyasree-Saket Puttur, Ankita G-Aarvi Parkala.
Third prize for Samata-Araditha Adi udupi, Rashmita-Vihani Mangalore, Divya-Dhruvi Sarapadi Bantwala, Chaitra S- Adhini S Kukkundur Karkala, Rakshata-Ritika, Urva Market Mangalore, Pratima Ashwath-Kriti A. Kota-Padukare.
Consolation prizes for Ashwini Sushant-Dianes Someshwar, Kavyashree Sharwari Kuthpadi, Akshata R.-Laharvi Ambagilu Udupi, Shamita Prakash-Diya Nada Belthangady, Poojitha-Avyakta Tenkapet Udupi, Preeti B.-Pranav Kundapur, Ashwini Akhil-Sriskanda, Chilimbi Mangalore, Dr. Bhargavi Muralikrishna-Akarsh M. Parkala, Sanvika Bhakta Gundibailu Udupi, Seema Nithin-Nidhi Mulki, Rupa-Tapasvi S. Brahmavara, Yashasvi-Kshitisha Shankar Parladka Puttur.
