Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday emphasized that the Congress party’s rise to power in Karnataka was a result of collective efforts and not attributed solely to any individual, including himself.

“I have never said that I alone brought the party to power, nor will I ever say it. Workers and people have brought the Congress party to power,” he stated.

He was responding to a question posed by the media near Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday about a statement made by Satish Jarakiholi.

Shivakumar further elucidated, “Party workers,  the people of the state, people in every village have fought and brought the Congress party to power. I will never say ‘Shivkumar alone brought Congress to power’… not today or tomorrow… never, ever.”

Responding to queries regarding Chief Whip Ashok Pattana’s purported remark on a potential cabinet reshuffle after two and a half years, Shivakumar maintained his discretion. “Some issues are discussed internally in the party. I cannot say that openly. I am not going to discuss it. But according to the information I have, no such discussion has taken place,” he said.
