Mangaluru: Gold worth Rs 6.47 lakhs concealed in biscuit packs seized at MIA

Mangaluru: Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle gold into the country on October 21.
A passenger arriving from Dubai on Indigo flight No. 6E 1163 was intercepted based on passenger profiling.
On further examinations, 107 grams of gold, worth Rs. 6.47 lakhs was found concealed as gold paste within the double-layered biscuits and within the layers of two carton boxes containing chocolates, Mangaluru Customs officials said in a press release.
