A forest officer in Chikkamagaluru district found himself accused of wearing a tiger claw pendant, which sent ripples through the film industry, politicians and spiritual leaders in recent times.
It is gathered that Darshan, a native of Aldur and the DRFO of Kalasa has found himself under scrutiny for wearing the illegal wildlife article.
Complaints were filed against the officer by Supreet and Abdul of Arenur village, calling for legal action under the Wildlife Act for allegedly possessing a tiger claw locket.
Despite being duly notified of the inquiry, Darshan reportedly was absent. This non-compliance prompted Koppa Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Dinesh to issue a suspension order at noon on Friday.
It is gathered that, following his suspension, DRFO Darshan was apprehended by forest officials in NR Pura.
