Mangaluru: The annual Karavali Utsav, which is celebrated with much pomp in the coastal town, will be held for 3 days this year instead of 10 days as in the previous years.

Presiding over a meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP said that emphasis will be given to quality and people-oriented programs during the festival.

“It is better to bring together various organizations of the district and formulate programs as per the current trends that cater to people’s choice,” he said.

Noting that there are several educational institutions in the district, the DC said that the institutions can be brought together to conduct a cultural festival for students. “Priority should be given to quality programs. Artists, both locals and those from outside should be given a chance to showcase their talents,” he added.
