Puttur: Akshay Kallega of Kallega Tigers brutally murdered

Akshay Kallega (24), the chief of the Kallega Tigers team, was brutally hacked to death by a group of miscreants in Nehrunagar on Monday, November 6.

Akshay,left behind a grief-stricken family consisting of his father Chandrasekhara, mother Kusuma, and two brothers. He had been leading the Kallega Tigers team for the past six years.

The tragic incident is believed to have been triggered by a minor altercation between Akshay and the accused.

The assailants ambushed Akshay near the Canara Bank ATM, located on the road leading from Nehru Nagar to Vivekananda College. They then chased him, dragged him into a bushy area and brutally killed him.

Shortly after the incident, accused Manish and Chetu surrendered to the police and were taken into custody for questioning. Another accomplice involved in the crime is reportedly on the run.
