Udayavani-‘Chinnara Banna 2023’: District level children’s drawing competition to be held on Nov 11

In collaboration with Udayavani and the Artists Forum, Undivided Dakshina Kannada is set to host a District-Level drawing competition “Chinnara Banna” on November 11 at 10 am. The competition will feature winners from sub-junior, junior, and senior categories who emerged victorious in the preliminary rounds held in 16 taluks across both districts.

The first phase witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 20,000 contestants, and certificates along with gift hampers were distributed to all participants. The upcoming district-level competition will be inaugurated by Tulu film director Devdas Kapikad. The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 pm, chaired by MD and CEO of Manipal Media Network Limited (MMNL), Vinod Kumar, with notable guests including Padma Shri awardee farmer Amai Mahalinga Nayka, Campco Chairman Kishore Kumar Kodgi, Hangyo owner Pradeep Pai, SCDCC Bank Chairman Dr. Rajendra Kumar, General Manager of Modern Kitchen Harish Kini, and Bhagavathi temple President Ganesh Kuntalapadi.

Competition Details:
– The event will take place on Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at the Bhagavathi Kootakkala Auditorium near Besant Circle, Kodialabail, Mangaluru. Participants are requested to be present by 9:30 am.
– Sub-Junior and Junior category children can choose an optional subject, but the same picture drawn at the taluk level cannot be recreated. Senior category children will receive subjects on the spot.
– Participants must bring their school identity card or a letter from the school principal for verification.
– Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners in all categories at both the taluk and district levels. Consolation prize winners at the taluk level will have their prizes delivered to their respective schools.
