Noor Mohammed

Malpe: Noor Mohammed, the father of murder victim Aynaz issued a clarification about the media reports that she had been using the two-wheeler of accused Praveen Chowgale, which was found parked near her rented residence.

Noor said that the family had bought the scooter from the accused. “We bought the scooter for Rs 28,000. However, there was a delay in transferring the registration to us,” he said.

Police had said that the accused Praveen Chowgale, a colleague of Aynaz, had murdered her, her mother, and 2 siblings on Sunday, November 12 at their residence in Nejar.

” He (the accused) was Aynaz’s senior (at work) and had helped her find a rented apartment. I had sent the money for the advance payment for renting the apartment. We bought his old scooter with money. The ownership transfer was delayed, so it was in his (accused) name. My daughters used it to travel locally,” he explained.

Noor said his daughter lived independently in the rented residence. “Aynaz’s diary was found there. She wrote about her daily routine in it,” he added.

Accused being moved to central jail?

It is gathered that the prison department is mulling transferring the accused Praveen Chowgale to the central jail for security reasons. Sources said that the court’s permission has been secured but approval from DGP (prisons) is pending. Currently, he is being kept at Hiriyadka Jail under constant surveillance. After getting the necessary permissions, his transfer would be initiated, sources added.
