Surathkal: MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty Y has proposed to rename the Kottara Chowki junction in the city after the late Capt. M V Pranjal as a lasting tribute to his memory.
Capt Pranjal laid his life to the nation during a gunbattle with terrorists at Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Shetty also said that an Amar Jawan theme park will be built at Kottara Chowki. “Considering Capt Pranjal’s strong ties to the city, it is highly apt to honor the fallen hero by naming the adjacent circle after him. A formal letter of the request will be sent to the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC),” he added.
He said that Capt Pranjal’s decision to join the armed forces is a role model for the younger generation, showcasing the courage and selflessness that defined his life.
Dr. Shetty extended heartfelt wishes for strength to Capt Pranjal’s bereaved family, invoking blessings for them to bear this untimely loss.
