Kundapura: In a remarkable feat of skill and collaboration, students of Sri Siddhi Vinayaka Residential School in Hattiangadi, Kundapura, have secured their place in history by clinching two Guinness World Records within just four days.
The first record involved crafting the largest two-faced picture on a Rubik’s Cube, a monumental achievement that required the coordination and involvement of an extensive number of participants.
Additionally, the school secured another record for involving the highest number of participants in a Rubik’s Cube activity, distinguishing itself as the sole institution from the country to achieve such recognition.
The Guinness World Records adjudicator, Rishinath, made the official announcement, marking this historic accomplishment. The certificate of the Guinness World Record was ceremoniously handed over to H.C. Sharana Kumar, Deputy Principal, amidst the presence of Vice President Balachandra Bhat, administrative officer Veena Rasmhi, Ramadevi A.R., and director of the initiative Prithvish K.
Before this, Prithvish K. had already marked his name in the records by single-handedly accomplishing a Guinness Record in Brahmagiri through the Rubik’s Cube challenge.
As many as 50 students created a double-sided picture using 6,000 cubes covering an area of 19.198 sq.m on december 1 and set a Guinness World Record. The portrait had the depiction of hockey wizard Maj. Dhyanchand on the one side while badminton player PV Sindhu on the other. This broke the record of 15.878 sq.m area built by Kazakhstan with 5,100 cubes.
In the second record, 1,228 persons arranged 1,300 cubes to make a colossal portrait of H. Ramachandra Bhat measuring 7.75×5.625 ft., with a total of 42.78 sq. ft. area. H. Ramachandra Bhatt’s film was made. This has not only set a new benchmark but also shattered a previous record set by a team from the UK involving 308 individuals.
After a meticulous inspection conducted by the Guinness adjudicator Rishinath, followed by a comprehensive survey and confirmation process involving 16 officers from the Health and Education Departments, the new Guinness World Record was officially proclaimed.
The atmosphere during the event was filled with jubilation as students, surpassing all expectations, celebrated their achievements even before the scheduled duration, showcasing their immense talent and dedication.
