Sirsi road accident: Last rites of three deceased held

The last rites of the three deceased, who passed away in a fatal road accident at Bandal village in Sirsi Taluk of Uttara Kannada district, were held at Mooduperar crematorium on Saturday.

The accident took place on Friday, December 8 after the car they were travelling in collided with a state-owned bus. Four of the car occupants died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital where he was rushed for treatment.

The deceased are identified as Ramakrishnarao Baburao (71), his wife Vidyalakshmi (67), his brother Pushpa Mohanrao (62), and nephew Suhas Ganeshrao (30), and driver of the car Aravind (45) from Chennai.

Their mortal remains were kept in the mortuary of a private hospital in Surathkal on Friday night.

On Saturday, their bodies were brought to their house at Kinnikambala and the funeral rites of Ramakrishnarao and his wife were held together while that of Suhas was held separately at Mooduperar crematorium.

MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty., BJP’s Tilak Raj Krishnapura, Rajesh Kottari, Sandeep Pachanadi, Congress leader Inayat Ali, R.K. Prithviraj, Sunil Ganjimath, Parish Priest of Pompei Church Rudolph Ravi D’sa and others visited the house and consoled the family.

The last rites of Pushpa Mohanrao will be held on Sunday at the crematorium. Aravind’s last rites will be held at Katipalla crematorium.
