More than 20 persons suffered injuries following a head-on collision between two KSRTC buses near Makonahalli village in Mudigere taluk.
The driver’s cabin in both the buses was crushed due to the impact of the collision. Luckily both the drivers escaped with injuries.
All the injured were shifted to the Taluk Hospital for treatment.
Locals alleged that both bus drivers were overspeeding and this caused the accident.
Notably, several accidents take place in the taluk because of its meandering hilly roads. Locals expressed their ire against government bus drivers for throwing caution to the winds and driving recklessly.
The accident occurred in the Mudigere police station limits.
