Mangaluru: Police arrest notorious drug peddler; drugs worth Rs 6 lakh seized

Police officials have apprehended a notorious drug peddler, Ashit alias Ashwit (Ashu), near Madoor Sai Mandir in Kotekar.

The arrest followed information obtained from the illegal drug trade activities of Shishir Devadiga and Shushan L., who were caught on December 4 for smuggling and selling methamphetamine and LSD drugs.

During the arrest of Ashit, the police seized approximately 100 grams of MDMA (worth Rs. 6 lakh), 600 grams of ganja (worth Rs. 30,000), Rs. 1 lakh, and a bike valued at Rs. 7,77,000.

Under the leadership of City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal and guidance from Dinesh Kumar, Mangaluru City Deputy Commissioner of Police Siddhartha Goyal, and Mangaluru South Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhanya.V. Naik, the successful operation reflects the commitment to combating illegal drug activities in the region.
