Vijayapura: Bus gutted in fire after tyre burst; Passengers narrowly escape

A private bus heading towards Vijayapura caught fire reportedly after suffering a tyre burst on National Highway 59 near Hitnalli on Friday morning. The passengers onboard narrowly escaped a catastrophe as no injuries were reported in the incident.
It is gathered that following the tyre burst, the driver of the bus, operated by a private transport company and en route from Bengaluru to Vijayapura, swiftly brought it under control. After halting the bus, the panicked passengers were evacuated from the burning vehicle.
In the wake of the alarming situation, passengers, who were fast asleep, ran to safety leaving behind their possessions, including valuables like money and gold.
Soon after, the bus was completely engulfed in flames and was gutted in the blaze. Fire service who were dispatched to the scene, managed to put out the fire.
Vijayapura Rural police have launched an investigation into the incident.
