Puthige Paryaya 2024: ‘Geethotsava’ in Bengaluru to explore essence of Bhagavad-Gita

Udupi: Sri Puthige Matha’s Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna Samiti will be organizing ‘Geethotsava’ in Bengaluru. The festival is set to captivate the spiritual fervor of devotees at the Basavanagudi National College Grounds in Bengaluru on December 23 and 24.
The inaugural ‘Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna Deeksha’ ceremony will witness the esteemed presence of Sri Sugunendratheertha Sripada of Sri Puthige Matha, and his disciple Sri Susrindratheertha Sripada.
The event promises a rich tapestry of spiritual activities, including the recitation of Bhagavad Gita and Vishnusahasranama by thousands of Krishna devotees. Distinguished thinkers from across the country will engage in Dita-Chintana, alongside lectures and presentations of Bhagavad Gita art forms.
School students will have the opportunity to participate in Bhagavad Gita-related competitions, and a pictorial display showcasing various thoughts adn teachings related to Bhagavad Gita will be a highlight. Additionally, stalls featuring material displays will add to the cultural vibrancy.
The festival will host discussions on different dimensions of Lord Krishna’s teachings in the Gita, with the participation of various dignitaries and practitioners from diverse fields, as well as tens of thousands of Krishna devotees.
On the evening of December 23, from 4:15 to 5:45, a special program titled “Bhagavad Gita in the thoughts of Acharyatraya” will be conducted. Prof Srinivasa Varakedi, the Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, will chair the session.
Distinguished scholars will share their insights, including the Editor of Sudharma Sanskrit daily of Mysuru, HV Nagaraja Rao, Founder of Parankushacharya Institute of Vedic Studies, Vedavaridhi Dr. P. Ramanujan, and Retired Principal of Bangalore Purnaprajna Vidyapeeth, V Haridas Bhatta. The session will be narrated by Krishnaraj Bhat Kuthpadi.
