95 devotees perform ‘Yedesnana’ at Kukke Subrahmanya temple on Saturday

Subrahmanya: Around 95 devotees performed the ‘Yedesnana’ ritual at Kukke Shri Subrahmanya temple during the Champashashti Jatra Mahotsava on Saturday.
Yedesnana will also be held on the Panchami and Shashti days.
Yedesnana is a religious ritual of rolling over the food offered to the deity is kept on banana leaves around the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Devotees believe that performing this ritual will get rid of Sarpadoshas / difficulties in life and help them gain peace and prosperity.
On Saturday, following the midday Mahapuja of Lord Subrahmanya, banana leaves were placed around the exterior of the temple, and offerings to God were served on it. After the cows of the temple ate the ‘Annaprasada’ in the leaves, the devotees took a bath in the Darpanateertha river and performed Urulu Seve over the leftovers.
After circumambulating one round around the sanctum sanctorum while performing Urulu Seva, the devotees took a dip in the Darpana Tirtha river and received Prasada.
On this occasion, the chairman of the management committee, Mohanaram Sulli, executive director Dr Ningaiah, and others were present.
Panchami Rathotsava today
Panchami Rathotsava will be held on December 17 in the Kshetra. Mahapuja, Utsava, Taila Abhyanjana will be held for the deity. Champashashti Maharathotsava will be held in the morning on December 18.
