In a move to curb the quack doctors in Udupi district, health department officials and staff conducted surprise raids and inspections at multiple locations.

Upon discovering deficiencies in clinics and labs, these unauthorized practitioners were prohibited from practicing medicine. Several of the clinics and labs have also been seized. Legal action has also been initiated under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act (KPME Act).

Meanwhile, the officials have urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from seeking treatment from unregistered or bogus doctors under the KPME Act.

Individuals with information regarding fake doctors can reach out to officials at Kundapur on 8277505911, Karkala on 8277505892, or the Udupi Health and Family Welfare Office at 0820-2525566.
