Kasaragod: Toddler dies after ingesting mosquito repellent

Kasaragod: In a heart-wrenching incident, an 18-month-old infant died on Tuesday, December 19, reportedly due to accidentally ingesting mosquito repellent.

The deceased has been identified as Jasa, daughter of Anshifa P K and Ramshid from Bava Nagar in Kanhangad town’s Kalluravi ward.  tragically passed away on Tuesday, December 19.

The incident reportedly occurred about 2 days ago during a family function at their residence in Bava Nagar. Amidst the celebrations, the toddler was left unattended and grabbed onto a refill pack of mosquito repellent kept on a shelf and ingested it.

The family realized the mishap and rushed her to a Kanhangad hospital which referred her to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Despite best medical efforts, Jasa’s condition worsened, and the young girl couldn’t be revived.
