Manipal: Patience in childcare and instilling good manners and cultural awareness are vital said Chief Executive Officer of Adarsh Hospital, Vimala Chandrasekhar, emphasising the pivotal role parents play in shaping a child.
She was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the Udyavani’s ‘Chiguru Chitra-2023’ children’s photo competition held at Udayavani Headquarters in Manipal on Thursday.
“Parents are the world to children, and they learn by example. Hence, dealing with childcare demands the utmost patience. We must promote awareness of good manners and culture to nurture well-mannered individuals,” stated Vimala Chandrasekhar.
Children ought to be kept away from mobile phones and TVs. They should be acquainted with the marvels of nature that captivate the eyes and mind. Besides fostering self-confidence to confront life’s challenges, parents should offer encouragement in victory and fortitude in defeat, she added.
Every parent desires their children to shine. She acknowledged that “Udayavani” deserves credit for spreading the smiles of adorable children among its readers through such endearing competitions.
The Executive Chairman of Manipal Media Network Ltd., T. Satish U. Pai, presided over the event, extending warm wishes to the winners and participants.
Mr. Vinod Kumar, MD and CEO of Manipal Media Network Ltd., underscored the innocence of children and the responsibility of parents to foster their happiness and enlightenment. “These young minds are the future, destined not just for esteemed positions but also to contribute as scientists,” he said, emphasizing the significance of the contest in nurturing competitiveness and resilience from an early age.
