Kadaba: One killed, 8 injured in Omni-Creta collision

Kadaba: One person was killed and 8 others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between an Omni and a Creta car near Mardhala on the Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya State Highway on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi (53), a resident of Kenchumane, Chaudlu village, Somwar, who was driving the Omni. Ravi’s mother Maniyamma (75), wife Vani (47), daughter Risha (19), son Sharan (10), brother Yogesh (55) and his wife Neetu (45), their daughter Neha (24) and son Anjan (14) were injured and received medical treatment at the Kadaba Community Health Centre.
The accident took place at a bend at Aleri near Mardhala. The Omni was moving towards Subrahmanya.
Kadaba police reached the spot and are conducting an investigation. Locals alleged that many accidents have previously occurred at the same spot due to road being narrow at the turn as well as an electric pole which is situated very close to the road.
