Filmmaker Rishab Shetty’s next venture, the prequel to the acclaimed Kantara (2022) titled Kantara-A Legend: Chapter 1, recently unveiled its first-look teaser after a successful muhurat.
Notably, the team initiated auditions earlier this month. Sources said the team received more than 25,000 applications from aspiring talents. Amidst these, a select few have been shortlisted for various roles.
Adding to the buzz, Paayal Rajput from Mangalavaaram (2023) expressed interest in joining the cast, reaching out on social media.
The prequel, set to begin production soon, will predominantly be in Kannada, with releases planned in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and English.
Rishab Shetty’s captivating Aghori avatar in the teaser, wielding God Shiva’s iconic Trishul along with an intriguing undisclosed weapon, has piqued curiosity among fans worldwide.
Kantara became a mass hit following its storyline that masterfully intertwines human nature conflicts with coastal Karnataka’s rich cultural tapestry, showcasing local practices of bhoota kola, daiva aradhane, and kambala.
