BJP’s Ramesh Rai, Congress’s Dinesh Shevire triumph in municipal council by-elections

In the recently concluded by-elections for two vacant seats in the Municipal Council, BJP’s Ramesh Rai emerged victorious in Ward-11, while Congress’s Dinesh Shevire secured the win in Ward-1.

In Ward-11, out of a total of 1053 votes cast, Ramesh Rai of the BJP garnered 431 votes, surpassing Congress’s Damodar Bhandar Kar who secured 400 votes, and Chintan from Puttila Parivar with 216 votes. Six votes were deemed invalid, and Ramesh Rai claimed victory with a margin of 31 votes.

Similarly, in Ward-1, where a total of 958 votes were cast, Congress’s Dinesh Shevire clinched the victory with 427 votes. Sunita from BJP secured 219 votes, and Annapurna from Puttila Parivar garnered 308 votes. Four votes were declared invalid, and Dinesh Shevire secured the win with a substantial margin of 119 votes.
