‘Udupi Auto Expo-2023’ draws to a close

The ‘Udupi Auto Expo-2023,’ organized by the District Automobile Dealers Association, Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industries in collaboration with Manipal Auto Club at MGM College Stadium, concluded on Saturday.

Kanchana Hyundai’s MD, Prasadaraj Kanchan, stated that the Auto expo in Udupi signifies the district’s small size yet significant fame. Around 15 years ago, the district witnessed the sale of 300 cars and 300 to 400 bikes per month. Now, the numbers have escalated to 1,000 cars and 3,000 bikes monthly, indicating significant economic progress, he said.

Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu, Medical Director of Prasad Nethralaya Super Specialty Eye Hospital, emphasized the importance of regular eye examinations for drivers to prevent accidents.

MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty conducted the lucky draw while District Automobile Dealer Association Secretary Kashinath Nayak presided over the event.

Municipal Council Member Geeta Shet, UCCI President Ammunje Prabhakar Nayak, Denta Care’s Dr. Vijayendra Vasanth, Manipal Auto Club Founder President Dr. Nishant B Bhat, and President Dr. Afzal PM were present.

All participating heads/representatives of automobile companies and related industries were felicitated. UCCI Secretary Laxmikanta Beskur extended the welcome while Prashanth Shetty Havanje compered the event. Satish M Bhat delivered a vote of thanks.

The event also included the presentation of the “Udupi Ratna Award” to MD of Kidiyuru Hotels Pvt. Ltd. Bhuvanendra Kidiyuru, Retired Principal of MGM College Malpe Lakshminarayan Samaga, Chairman of the G M Vidyanikethan Educational institutions Prakash Chandra Shetty,  Dr. Krishnaprasad Kudlu, Educationist Dr. Ananthapadamanabha Achar, and Businessman Prasadaraj Kanchan.

Additionally, a lucky draw was conducted for attendees of the Auto Expo-2023 event. The winners were Devadasa M Shetty Kunjibettu (5 gm), Abhimanyu Rai Udupi (3 gm), and KK Pujari Parkal (1 gm) who received gold coins as prizes.
