City Corporator Jagadish Shetty admitted to hospital after alleged suicide attempt

Jagadish Shetty, the corporator representing the Boloor ward of the city, was found in a critical condition after reportedly attempting suicide by consuming poison. He is currently receiving medical attention in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in the city.

The incident unfolded when Jagadish Shetty consumed poison while seated in a car near Statebank bus stand on Thursday. Locals who saw his condition promptly admitted him to the hospital for urgent medical intervention. The exact cause leading to the poisoning remains unclear at this time.

Upon learning of the incident, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, Mayor Sudhir Shetty of Kannur, and other officials visited the hospital.
