Udupi: Sri Puthige Paryaya Mahotsava – Horekanike procession launched

Udupi: The ‘Horekanike’ procession for the fourth Paryaya celebrations of Sri Suginendra Theertha Sripada was launched at Udupi Sanskrit College on Tuesday, January 9.
Diwan of the Matha Nagaraj Acharya, working president of Paryaya Swagatha Samiti Raghupati Bhat, and International Secretary of the Sri Puthige Matha Prasanna Acharya, flagged off the procession.
The procession began at Sanskrit College, proceeding through Kanakadasa Road, Rathabeedi, and Vidyodaya College to reach the warehouse, where the muhurta took place. Tattiraya, Nasik band, percussion instruments, and fireworks were part of the march. A grand ‘horekanike’ parade is scheduled from Jodukatte starting Wednesday.
Horekanike Samiti president Baikady Suprasad Shetty, imminent personalities including, Ramesh Bhat, Ramesh Shetty, Manjunath Upadhyaya, Ravindra Acharya, Vijayaraghava Rao, Ramachandra Upadhyaya, Srinivasa Badya, Raghupathi Rao, Nalini Pradeep Rao, Sandeep Manja, Nagaraja Upadhyaya, Santosh P. Shetty Thenkaraguthu, Shobha Upadhyaya and Jagdish Shet were also present.
