Shimoga: Former Minister KS Eshwarappa has voiced his disapproval of personal criticism among politicians, emphasizing the need for a focus on development rather than mudslinging.

Eshwarappa specifically addressed recent remarks made by MP Ananth Kumar Hegde, asserting that such comments divert attention from crucial matters of public interest.

Addressing presspersons, Eshwarappa expressed concern over the increasing trend of personal attacks within the political sphere. He called for a collective effort to cease this practice, highlighting that personal criticism leads to a chaotic political atmosphere.

“If we continue talking about each other in this manner, it will turn into a crazy party. Let us all become devotees of Rama. Rama transcends party lines; he does not belong to any political faction,” Eshwarappa remarked, underlining the importance of unity and a shared commitment to public welfare.

Eshwarappa criticized the divisive nature of identifying individuals solely based on their association with Congress or BJP, emphasizing that engaging in personal criticism while disregarding the larger goals of development is detrimental to the democratic process.

Taking a swipe at former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Eshwarappa urged him to openly express his devotion to Lord Rama, citing the need for leaders to set positive examples for the public. He stated, “I have personally seen Siddaramaiah and he has devotion to God.”
