Vogga robbery case: Police officials arrest 7 accused

A special team from the Bantwal police apprehended seven suspects involved in the recent robbery of a mother and daughter in Anchikatte Menadu near Vogga. The suspects were produced in court in connection with the robbery case, where valuable cash was stolen from the victims.
The arrested individuals include Ganesh Naik (26), Dinesh Naik (22), and Sagar Shetty (21) from Mala village, Karkala taluka, Mangalore, Rakesh L of Aikala village; Pinto (29) from Bellandur village, Kadaba; Sitarama Praveen (36), Sudhir (29), and Vasi Muhammad Hanif (49) from Bantwal taluk.
The police recovered Rs. 3.15 lakhs in cash, 54 grams of gold ornaments, and two valuable cars, an Innova and an Indica, from the arrested individuals.
The robbery took place on the morning of the Jan 11 when masked men entered the house of Marita Cynthia Pinto in Anchikatte Menadu. The suspects, armed with knives, threatened the occupants, Marita Pinto and her mother Florina Pinto, and made off with gold and cash from the cupboard.
D.K. District Superintendent of Police, C.B. Rishyant, promptly visited the crime scene and directed the formation of a special team for investigation. The accused have now been arrested.
