Kundapura: 25-yo arrested in bike theft case; stolen vehicle recovered

Kundapura police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the theft of a Hero Honda Splendor bike and recovered the vehicle from his possession.

The arrested is identified as Ranjith Poojary (25), a resident of Byndoor.

Based on the complaint filed by the bike owner, Ananth Hebbar police had registered a case and begun investigation.

Hebbar had parked his bike, bearing the registration number M12 E9604, near the Government Employees’ Association building on Bhandarkar College Road on November 26 while going for work.

When he returned in the evening he found that the bike was missing and searched in nearby places. As he was unable to find his bike he filed a complaint with the police.

A team of police personnel under the guidance of Kundapura police station inspector U B Nandakumar arrested Poojary from Byndoor junction. Police said that he has been named in over five bike theft cases registered in various police stations.

Poojary was produced in the court on January 23 and remanded to judicial custody.
