Bengaluru: In a shocking incident at RBI Layout, Tilaknagar, an innocent one-day-old baby was callously thrown into the narrow gap between two buildings, leaving the community in dismay.

On Wednesday night, residents reported hearing distressing cries resembling that of a small child emanating from the junction of two buildings. However, a subsequent search yielded no results. It wasn’t until Thursday morning that locals discovered the newborn.

The locals rescued the infant and rushed it to Indira Gandhi Hospital for medical treatment. The examination reportedly revealed the baby had suffered bites to the head and other parts of its body, supposedly inflicted by rats.

Tilak Nagar police have registered a case in connection with this heart-wrenching incident. The investigation is focusing on determining the motives behind this act. Preliminary inquiries are exploring the possibility of an illicit relationship leading to the abandonment of the newborn or deliberate intent to discard the child.

As part of the ongoing investigation, CCTV footage in the area is being meticulously examined. Locals expressed their astonishment at the child’s survival despite the rat bites.
