The tenure of Jayaprakash Hegde as the Chairman of the Karnataka State Commission For Backward Classes is anticipated to be extended for the second consecutive time.
Hegde, whose term concludes on January 31, is expected to receive an extension, sources said.
It is doubtful that Hegde will meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah before the current tenure ends to submit the educational and economic survey (caste census) report. Sources suggest that the extension might be granted until the end of February, with an official order expected on Tuesday, January 30.
Commission office sources indicate that the extension might be until February 15, emphasizing the likelihood of the order being issued in this regard.
